Hi there,

I am using the newest demo1 v2.46 for the mac. I have installed exactly as you have instructed. The program starts up and and I can open files form the folder you can download. when I open the scene files I see thing in the graph editor but nothing begins to render. If I push the play button nothing happend. If I push the back button next to the play button I see frame rates being used but no preview of whats being rendered. So I quite and the program, but it crashes before anything else. How would I show the crash report. Or how would you like to see it?

I have the xquarts or what ever that is was i needed. including the toolkit 3.2 and drivers 3.2 and such. And I did them in order I know cause the program turns on. I can update to cuda 4.0 from nvidia but I wan to see how this plays out.

I have a mac pro 10.6.7 Snow Leopard with both a GeForce 8800 gt and Quadro 4000 inside. 8 Gigs of ram and 8 Core processors.

you need to click on a mesh node or a material node to start rendering the mesh or a material preview.

Hey,

Yes, I was aware you need to select the node in order to get the renderer going. However I retried that option again just incase, and I got no results. Would it be benfitionary for me to post a crash repot on this forum. Seeing that there is allot of information from a crash report and I am more of artist then a programer, I would not know where to spot that information on the report. If I can could someone tell me what to look for and I can more then likely find it.

Thanks for your replies, If I can figure this out I would be more willing to purchase this software for use in my home-based company.

I also have the same issue. I installed the packages in the order of the install video. The demo runs fine on my PC but on my Mac Pro, Octane runs but the render window wont render anything. Even after clicking on the mesh and trying to rotate the view still its blank viewport. Dying to get this working. Rechecking my driver...

Hi again, I've just tried
devdriver_3.2.17
cudadriver_3.2.17
cudatoolkit_3.2.17
Mac Restart then re-install Octane Render

Still the render window did not work.

So I then tried the latest RC Cuda software
devdriver_4.0.14
cudatoolkit_4.0.13
Retail_256.01.00f03v7 (The latest driver for the Quadro 4000 for Mac)
System restart, Re install Octane Render and still the software starts fine but the render view does not work.

Maybe my install sequence is bad? Anyone else have the Quadro 4000 card only and have Octane working?

I also tried to open one of the demo scenes which opens fine. I can see all the nodes and their details. Just the main render view is blank. Another clue to the problem is the ruler function that displays the dimensions on the render viewport does not work as well. The entire render viewport is just application default dark grey.

I also load the Chess Scene and click the bottom node that says "Chess Scene (CLICK ME)" and still the render view area in blank. Pressing > Play button also does nothing.

Is there a way to close and re-open just that render view window?
