Hi all I'm having a problem getting my LW model to have a proper mesh in Octane. In the image attached 1. is Smooth checked on in Octane 2. is smooth unchecked in Octane, and 3. is my LW10 viewport image. any ideas how I fix my model in Octane to match the smoothing characteristics of the LW10 model?

It seems that you either don't export vertex normals or they are exported incorrectly. If no vertex normals are supplied by the OBJ file, Octane tries to generate them while loading it, but this can fail in some circumstances. It also seems that your exported wheel geometry is low-poly, while the geometry you use in Lightwave is high-poly.

-> Make sure that you export a detailed enough mesh and also the vertex normals. (I don't know anything about Lightwave, but there is very likely an export option to enable the vertex normal export).

Cheers,
Marcus
