Gizmo Lock - camera problem

When I move the camera to the top to make a shot from top view the camera gets stuck or flips suddenly.
It looks like there is a gizmo lock problem resulting from hirachical rotation dependencies of the camera transformation node.

(in another thread Marcus acknowledged that it will be solved at some point, just not very soon)

Well, it's called a gimbal lock and yes it will be fixed with a rewrite or update of the viewport navigation, which is planned before 1.0 final. As always: No guarantees here.
