Even if it needs some higher subdivision - I can see the tris nearly everywhere- the overall style is very moody & impressive, plus I love those colors!

Your so right on the low poly. I will try a smooth one at another time.
Lighting is pretty basic. I have four large single poly planes top front and left and right that are a ways away from a backdrop type plane.
I load a texture emission color (red, blue, yellow and white) onto each of em. Crank up their power and lower the power a bunch on an environment HDR basic photo studio image.
Then let her rip with a bit of hot pixel removal and a tad of vignetting and saturation.
Scene set up with Octane is so great. Used to take me hours with mental ray, now its minutes.
