I'll upload that for you now.thwak wrote:Do the 2.49 settings not warrant posting? Still a lot of folks on here using it.

I'm trying to create a "perfect" pipeline for Lightwave-->Octane (OBJ).
I'm testing 3 ways:
- Native LW Export.
- Trough Luxology Modo.
- Using Okino Poly Trans.
Some conclusions after tests (not totally shure about):
- Meshes need to be tripled.
- The LW surfaces can't have names with characters like çáãé[]()... -after rename, was accepted...
- Only one UVMap for each named texture.
- No procedural texturies.
- No non-planar polys.
So, I'm not shure about what's the reason about some crashes when loading the mesh.
If some other LW user have some conclusions about, pls, share here...

I am seeing quite a few instances of meshes being imported into Octane with improper scaling. Could these settings be added to this thread? I am wondering if scaling is an issue on some of my imports, but don't know what the proper settings should be going from Blender 2.49 to Octane. And where should these settings be made? In the modeler or in Octane?

In octane, 1 unit = 1 metre, so if you have been modelling a 10 cm model where 1 unit = 1cm then in octane the model will be 10 metres tall.
In the import settings in octane you can change the scale on import, as seen in the screenshot below.
If you have been modelling at 1 unit = 1cm then you would want to select centimetres from the dropdown box to get the correct scaling in ocatne.

Thanks James!
Should this info (along with the screenshot of the 2.49 OBJ settings I attached to the post at the top of page 2 of this thread) be put into the first post? Or am I the only one needing this info.

I can put it there, as it is related, but that is the OBJ import settings for when you are in octane.
