Hi, i am looking to buy Octane Render, but after messing around the web page i can't get a clear idea about the exact octane capabilities , the feature list shows double asterisk for 1.x versions, the sales page shows Octane 1.0, and people in this forum are using 1.02x, what exactly i can expect after buying it?
-So what are the concrete additions/features right now?
-If i need a specific feature like instancing, how can i know when this is implemented so i can buy a license?
-Can you Reflective Software mark as bold or something the features with the ** when it has been implemented?

The version numbering admittedly is a little bit disorderly. Octane is basically in beta. The final version (1.0) is forthcoming once all of the features on the list are complete. For the most part, everything on the features page (http://refractivesoftware.com/features.html) has been implemented EXCEPT for the ones marked with an asterisk. I believe that there are a few exceptions (since the page might not have been updated recently). For example, I believe that "Shift Lens" was completed back in Janary. I also believe that "Alpha channel rendering with real-time UI compositing over images" has been completed, but I'm not sure (since alpha channels were added back in January, but I don't really know what "UI compositing over images" means).abus wrote: -So what are the concrete additions/features right now?
