congrats on your new system... :)
you will have usable memory equal to the memory of the GPU, which has the least memory of all.. in your case, both cards are of 1GB, so usable memory= 1GB.
If you had one card of 2GB, other of 1GB; so max. usable memory= 1GB (least of the two..) similarly if you had two cards of 2GB each- so usable memory= 2GB
hope this helps...
it always helps to have 2 similar GPUs, having equal memory - higher the better

maybe in the future version:

a small thing..
can we have a spinner next to the camera response presets, so that we can quickly browse thru the available presets (with up/down arrows)..without going to each preset and selecting them (then changing them..)
it would be lot more interactive/faster..
cheers!

Request from us with multiple octane licenses:

Now that animation rendering works fine, rendering animation on more machine than one is a little troublesome.

The machines keeps writing over eachothers _anim.obj :/ So now I have to copy the scene file into different folders, one per machine, in order to get it working. Can you make so the _anim also contains the frame number? Would be good to use also when using "skip rendered frames" option, that way each computer "locks" the frame its working on. And you can have many computers with the same in out frame range without any problem... Im looking into equiping my renderfarm with GPUs, and buy alot more Octane licenses :)

That's something that has to be done by the exporter plugins, but it's a good idea nonetheless. I will change the C4D exporter and ask the other devs to do the same with their plugins.

EDIT: Sorry for the post: problem solved, blender was playing tricks on me :ugeek:

hi:)
i did some camera tracking to combine some real footage with octanerenders output. tracking in voodoo works fine but after exporting from blender to octane i must realize that the fov of blenders camera didnt match octanes one!? just compare the two screenshots attached.
not shure if its just a lil bug in octane or in yoyoz exporter.
any help/ideas how to get them matched are welcome:)

cheers dave

exelent news, im going to test today but can you guys put one thing for the next update, it important and i think is kinda easy (im architect not programmer rsrs) please can you guys put the exported materials in alphabetical order? at least in blender export i can put in alphabetical order... so that will help a lot on finding meterials to setup scene.

Thanks a lot en exelent software i really happy to use it.

Do we know roughly when we will be able to use Octane with Cuda 3.2 for multi gpu's?
We can not from all I have seen run GTX 580's with Cuda 3
Really want to see how this thing hums when fully used ;)

Thanks,
Josh
