Here is a work in progress that is intended to be of assistance to people with basic problems running Octane.
It doesnt cover every issue, only points you to likely causes and remedies.
This might lessen the need for new people to ask much the same questions over again in the forums.
I wont be answering this thread to provide software support and this isnt an official Refractive post but feel free to post any comments about the help content itself so it can be refined. :geek:
Thanks
Hope it helps other users find their way.

BTW to help others to help you please add your hardware and O/S details into your forum signature

Hey, very useful!

Some of those questions really do repeat a lot. This should be put somewhere visible (sticky, with flashy arrows pointing to it :) ), so that people will find it before starting new threads...

Hi, thanks for the great work.

Maybe you can add a point I had a big problem with. Octane crashed every time i tried to load a .obj file.
After two hours of research I finaly solved the Problem.
It is not only a problem to use non-latin characters in the filename itself. It is also a problem to use them anywhere in the path. A folder of mine had an "ö" in it.
