rman1974....you still dont need to write down the camera parameters...rman1974 wrote:You are wrong. That is really important for me (not only me of course). Now I have to write down all camera positions, targets, fovs. That is really annoying. BTW, BIG thanks to octane team for fixing external material node connection crash - now I don't need to pause octane before connection.suhail_spa wrote:its OK..this is not such a big issue anyway...abstrax wrote:Sorry, that wasn't meant with it. The change fixes the incorrect behaviour that when you reset your camera, the nodes in the node stack editor don't get updated. We didn't have time to look into the reconnection problem. Sorry. There are always gazillion thing to improve/fix/change, but we had to draw the line and focus on building the other platforms. I reckon Mac and Linux users will appreciate it.
But that's not the end of the development or the world
Cheers,
Marcus
the camera node can be saved as .ocs file, and then imported back to preview configuration and re-attached. multiple camera angles can be saved and re-connected this way to shifte between camera angles..
the only problem is- after connecting the desired camera node- in the previous disconnected camera node- some settings have to be modified (like slightly modifying FOV, or anything else). the new camera then instantly jumps to the correct view....(i hope i was able to make it clear).
it works for me. this is a small workaround. no need to write down the parameters.

One thing i can confirm with this release, if you are overclocking your card.
I tried a test and ran one of my scenes.
Results
At stock speed - 715MHZ GPU , 1800MHZ Ram - the test cam in at 0.78 FPS
Then I overclocked it to 820MHZ GPU , 2250MHZ Ram - The test came in at 0.97 FPS
If my maths are correct for a 14.7% increase in the GPU overclock there was an overall 25% speed increase.
The overclocking of the ram therefore also has an effect on getting the best performance out of this version of Octane.

I've noticed that Octane is reporting "disconnected" a lot of times - but my line is stable, I haven't had any problems with connection in months. I guess that this problems with rendering animations don't have much to do with internet lines on the user side.iljubicic wrote:Try to render animation when live account stops working every few minutes!
