Hi everyone,
I'm testing the Octane Render demo and I'm having a strange issue with a small scene. The scene opens normally, and I can move the camera and change materials without any problems, but when I start rendering, the progress stays at 0% for a long time and the Live Viewer doesn't update.
The scene is quite simple: one camera, a few basic materials, several area lights, and a small number of objects. I also tried creating a completely new scene with just a sphere and a light, but I get the same behavior.
Has anyone experienced the demo getting stuck at 0% like this? I'm mainly wondering whether there is a specific GPU or CUDA setting I should check first, rather than reinstalling everything.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Demo render stops at 0%

I’d check the GPU/CUDA configuration first, especially whether Octane is detecting the correct GPU and using a compatible driver. If it happens even in a simple sphere-and-light scene, it’s likely an environment or GPU issue rather than the scene itself. Checking the Octane log may also reveal what it’s waiting on.ethanhawkins wrote: Sat Aug 29, 2026 9:13 am Hi everyone,

Please try to download and run OctaneBench 2025.2, to see if you are having errors:ethanhawkins wrote: Sat Aug 29, 2026 9:13 am Hi everyone,
