These are all good suggestions, but except number 3 they all need quite a bit of work and therefor won't be in beta 2.4. -> But they got noted.

Cheers,

I understand that these are not an easy steps to include in the next releases but thank you for noting them ;)

I would also add one more point - region or multi region rendering of the noisy areas. There could be a few ways of selecting the regions for example - standard rectangular or a selection brush (maybe with feather etc. options).

A question: I just updated my Cuda Drivers to 3.2 (devdriver_3.2_winxp_32_263.06_general.exe) and in the NVIDIA control pannel it shows cuda version as 3.2 , but in Octane Render it says: Cuda driver: 3.02 , is that normal? or the driver has not been property installed??? Thanks.

Hi, I relinked a scene with updated geometry, using the same obj name (updated obj) and I lost all my materials settings. Is it normal ?

When loading the obj for the first time, I had textures loaded and materials with approximate colors (Blender settings), but when relinking the updated obj, most of my materials have turned to diffuse white !

Are you using the last blender 2.49 script ? If so, remember that I removed the -r parameter to workaround the problem we had with the previous version, so until I publish a new version, just open the script with a editor, search for -r and you'll find 2 commented lines and 2 not commented, remove the 2 not commented and uncomment the 2 others. I think this should solve the problem.

Do you mean this?
In some occasions, have not found out yet, which ones, darkened polygons show on object, no matter whether the material is smoothed or not.
it is still there in 2.42.

Thank you Enrico. I will look at the script. I'll ask you if I don't find the lines.

 I confirm that the shadows of smoothed polygons are not smoothed. The model is high poly, subsurfaced and smoothed, and Smooth is enabled in Octane material.

 An old problem has come back : When using Two GPUs for rendering, with Cuda 3.0 version, the right and left parts of the images are not refreshed simultaneously (the right side seems to be refreshed first, and looks darker.

Yes same happens to me. I thought it was because one of the two cards was powering the display and system. It seems that the right one renders faster.
