This is currently happening to me on 2026.1, but i had this issue while back with 2024.1.2 on different project - so it seems to be persistent problem. In both cases standalone version, but i guess thats not important.

What i mean here, when i go over them memory limit of my GPUs (2x 4090) and the OOC kicks in (which otherwise is great feature and allows me to do stuff i could not otherwise), the rendering speed could become wildly inconsistent, sometimes really run slow as hell. Un-checking the primary GPU in the preferences, and then turning it back in sometimes seem to fix this, but today, as i tried it, it would not, in fact it would pretty consistently HALVE the rendering speed (from around 40 Ms/s to around 20) - playing around with the Denoise and Image being switched on/off on either card seemed to do nothing to help. I was kind of already accepting that this is likely normal situation, that OOC and primary (display) card combo is causing this, but then randomly, one more turning the primary card on and off and booom - 80 Ms/sec! Thus i presume even with OOC On this halving of performance i witnessed was not something that should be happening, hence i like to report it, or seek some guidance, how to avoid it/fix it next time.

Well, i would later find out disconnecting one of my geometry groups and connecting it back to Render Target would fix it, but then i ran into GPU failed issue and downright crash when changing resolution to 4K or turning on Denoiser...

so i downloaded newer version, 2026.3, and seems to work just fine, at least from limited experience so far...so consider this topic irrelevant for the moment

thx
