Requested this maybe 6 months ago on facebook. I think Tom said it requires Autodesk approval or something? Still feels like there should be a way around this.
To clarify, I want to see the albedo details in the standard viewport without turning 'render' on. This works with maya/arnold materials... there MUST be some way to make it work for octane....???

Thanks for the post..
Is it the hardware viewport render?
We can already do this for albedo texture. Try these settings in the Octane tab>Maya viewport defaults rollout. We can also find the same settings for every Octane materials from the Attribute editor, incase of wanting to see for an individual mesh to save memory.

WOA AWESOME! Was this feature recently implemented? This makes me so happy!
My default maya viewport settings under octane render settings has the same settings in your image (which makes me think textures should have been showing already) but the textures didn't start showing in my viewport until I selected an object and edited it's maya viewport settings individually in the attribute editor. Is there a way to have textures showing in viewport by default so I don't have to select/edit every object individually?
Thanks again so much!

Great to hear!! Oh maybe try Clicking the Rebuild textures button underneath the other parameters and see if it works.
These features were available since the beginning.
The Maya viewport defaults rollout settings will override the individual Material settings in Attribute editor.
Maybe check if you have the *Render selected only* option enabled? This feature is useful when we render IPR and work on texturing.
