Can Trinity - or any "official" person - tell me if the effect in this picture is allowed?
(I don't think so, but you never know...)

2 effects added with Photoshop:
- Photo Filter -> DeepYellow
- Took a picture of crumpled paper, put it on a new layer on top of my mixer's image, set the crumpled paper layer Blending to "Multiply" and lowered "Opacity".

Image

Many thanks in advance...

with that lightning theres no composition for me ( too uniform ). Maybe I would agree that making more simple stuff is better, but here I can see floor only and the chair. when I opened this image in full res. My eyes goes crazy ( becouse theres no "golden point" to look at ). I dont know where You want me to look... ...at floor?? at chair?? I dont know whos the hero in this picture. thats my feeling.

I think if You lit the chair way more than the floor ( and darken the floor ) it will get more dramatic, maybe rotate the picture counter-clockwise in 20/30 degrees and the angle will get more dynamic. Ofcourse You will do what You decide :)

Im not hating it :) im just trying to help, theres still time and I love simple stuff, but for now - this is too simple.
You're right. The composition is not the best, but I like the idea: of simply showing the possibility of octane. I think the contest should primarily show the possibility of octane. Rendering software should allow us to make very realistic effects. If Morat just add a little dirt and texture on the chair, I can say that we are dealing with a new dimension to digital photography. It could be worse or better. Not always in the pictures composition is perfect, but it is kind of new technology. Virtual photography.
And this is, what I like in octane. The oportunities.
"New Camera in town"
Sorry for poor English. I hope you understand what I mean.

On the other hand. Mlody47 - your job, the first entry, is so far the best.
Great composition, good atmosphere, good work.

hehe thanks but I think Im not gonna win... ...we still got time , but I dont have much left... :(
I agree that contest should show how much You can squeeze from octane, not from your models or any other part of process

I know what You mean " New camera in town " :) If it comes to photography Octane is veeeeery friendly ... ... I dont like to tell someone what to do , becouse we are all artists here, and everyone has different taste :) I think he could get on the podium if he would spend X2 more time on it. And I agree that simplicity is power.

VERY NICE IMAGE MADCOO!!!!

Hi all,

I´m new to Octane and did my first rendering.

Scene was done with Cinema4D.
I use one map from Arroway for the wood floor.
One diff map for the cross and one bump map for the metal was painted with BodyPaint.

I´ve tried to upload the image here but it is 4096x2048 and is 10 mb big.........
but it don´t work.

So I upload it to another location.
Image

I also add screenshot out of Octane.
