Hello,

I noticed that in the latest 2025 and also the new 2026.1 octane plugin version there is a bug when rendering with/without straight alpha. The colors are shifted heavily.

Also, when I load up my file, start the picture viewer, it all looks as desired(lighter version). When I then render via shift+R, it renders the darker version. After rendering, when I switch to the live viewer again, the live viewer now shows the darker version. What is happening here?

Windows 11
RTX4080 Super 16 gig
581.57 nvidia Driver
2026.1 c4d
C4D 2025.3.3

Hi,

Please try to disable C4D Save options, and save your results via Render Settings/OctaneRender/Render AOV Manager tab.
You need to enable the Save Beauty option, and/or Denoised beauty option if necessary:

About Straight Alpha option, in OctaneRender you need to check the "Disable partial Alpha" option in Imager node:

About Picture Viewer result, try to set the View Transform popup to OFF.

Thanks for your reply. I need the C4D saver because in the Octane saver there is no possibility to export TIFF with LZW compression, which my client requires. I need to render hundreds of pictures and can not always manually save every single render in Photoshop as LZW.

Damn, good point!

Maybe you can create a Photoshop droplet to automate the compression process.
