I'm trying to recreate the Diffraction Grating in Octane from https://everdrone.pages.dev/blog/diffraction-grating-octane#silicon-material
They use two objects there: one with a Metallic material and another with a Specular material. It works that way.
But shouldn’t the Octane Layered Material be able to do the same thing with just one object instead of two? For some reason, I can’t get it to work.
Image: On the left, there is one object with Octane Layered Material; on the right, there are two objects with two different materials.

Hi ramone163,
It seems you're using a Material Layer node, it is used to nest it inside a material.
