What is the IPR update trigger?

Any update on this? Forcing full reloads when the scene gets to be heavier (and consequently slow to reload) basically makes the renderer useless for lighting any serious work. Would be good to know if we should expect a plugin update soon or look for alternatives for heavier scenes. Thanks!

Hi Andrew, the bug is logged in the system already, but I cannot give you an ETA on a fix just yet.

Having the same problem. Unticked everything from the IPR update menu, having timeshift on every node - it's very difficult to work with. Can't move the light around because the scene has around 10 mil polys. It freezes like it reloads the whole geo in the scene when you move the light. What can I do?

Can you send me the scene sample, we have fixed moving heavier geometry while IPR is running in the latest builds - are you using Full Scene reload at all, if so - rather revert to default as it isn't needed anymore.seesharpstudio wrote:Having the same problem. Hi. Bruce help me fix it in the Release thread. It was the AI Light in the render target that made all the problems also with the lights and also with the emission on instances.

Hi! This is still a problem in 2025.4 in Houdini 20.5.684. What needs to happen to fix this? If we make a scene with a 600k instances totaling a couple billion triangles and we can no long move lights without ~60 sec reload periods. I have already made a demo file about this. Years ago.
What exactly do we need to do or say to convince the dev team to pause adding new toy features and fix the actual professional workflow problems? Or are professionals not Otoy's intended market? The dev team has done an incredible job building powerhouse rendering tool, but every time it's used for actual work it becomes the weak point due to some issue that's a solved problem in other tools.
