I have a scene that was rendering in 20 just fine. I have since upgraded to 20.5.550 and when i load in the same scene, it instantly fills up all 24GB of VRAM on one of my 4090s. There is nothing happening in this scene that involves the GPU and i have not even invoked the Octane IPR yet. What is filling up this RAM and how can i flush it so that i can actually render the scene? Here are screen grabs of the system profile in houdini and HWMonitor showing VRAM usage of both GPUs:
Hey there!
So if this is happening before the IPR starts, then this is unlikely to be an octane related issue, as Octane only starts loading things into the GPU when the IPR is started.
Chances are your scene geo is loading into your GPU memory or you have nodes that use the GPU (like vellum, pyro sim etc).
I would contact sidefx for more help with this!
