Hey, it's super basic. A sphere turns into a VDB, and then with a noise fog set to multiply
Then I tried both just loading as is, also running it out as a VDB and/or Volume, and then loading using the LOP Vol Loader

It's hard to say what the issue is with your scene, but I would test it in a well lit scene. In your dark scene it would be hard to tell if something is working.
Here an example file that works:

Super strange behavior, now I got it to work after restarting the scene completely
