Hello everyone,
I am currently using Octane Render for an animation project that is about 2 minutes long. However, when rendering, it takes a long time and the machine is often overloaded with resources, especially when there are many dynamic lights and glowing materials. I would like to ask if there are any settings or tricks to optimize the animation rendering process in Octane? Can everyone share their experiences about using Out-of-Core, reducing noise, or using more effective types of light? We look forward to receiving comments and sharing from you in the forum!
Thank you!

Hi,

Are you working in Standalone or in an integrated plugin?

Out-of-core is great, because it let you render the scene even if VRAM memory is finished, but it is not good for animations, since part of the scene is moved from faster VRAM to slower system RAM, increasing a lot the rendering time per frame.

Try to reduce the scene complexity as much as possible (polygon reduction for geometry, and reducing resolution and color depth for textures) in order to have the full scene completely loaded in GPU VRAM memory, or consider to render the scene with GPUs with more VRAM (RNDR).

Also Kernel settings can have an impact on rendering time per frame.

Please share a screenshot of the kernel panel.

ciao,
Beppe
