Hi :)

I would like to make my material user-friendly so that other people who use my material don't have to dive too deeply into the Node Editor. Is there any way to bring parameters such as an image or a float value to the ‘top’? Expresso would come to mind, but is there a kind of ‘User Data Node’ or something for Octane itself?

Hi,
this is quite easy to do in Standalone, since there are Input and Output nodes, so you can expose whatever parameter you want in the Graph node of the material, but very difficult to do in c4doctane.
We cannot have input output nodes for materials, and X-Presso is not a good solution for materials, in my experience.

ciao,
Beppe

Thank you for the replies. It is so unfortunate we don´t have this possibility in c4doctane. Are the materials that I set up in the way shown usable as intended when I load them via OctaneDB into Cinema?

Nope, sorry, input/output nodes are skipped, and the material is imported like if created in c4doctane.

ciao,
Beppe
