I'm currently testing the Octane Render demo version and was wondering about its limitations compared to the full version. Are there any restrictions I should be aware of when working on projects? Also, any tips on optimizing performance while using the demo?
Hi,
OctaneRender Demo versions are limited in rendering to 1000x700 pixels with watermarks, and you have no access to LiveDB (materials/textures/nodes database) and Network Rendering.
Apart from this, the demo version has all the same features available in the corresponding commercial version.
ciao,
Beppe

The demo version is fully functional in many ways, but there are a few key limitations:
- You can’t render without the watermarked output.
- No network rendering.
- You also won’t be able to export ORBX files or use third-party plugins in some cases.
As for performance, make sure to optimize your scene by minimizing unnecessary geometry, use instancing where possible, and check your GPU memory usage closely—Octane tends to crash when memory is maxed out. Also, try lowering the GI clamp and max samples for faster previews during test renders.
Hope that helps!
