In Blender, the "Curves" Object, used for hair and fur is missing it's "object properties" section. meaning Lightpass mask, Render layer ID and ray visibility can not be set for curves objects. This has been an issue for years and unfortunately has prevented me from fully switching to Octane as a primary renderer.
Only "Octane Curve Properties" is present.
Is there any functional work around for this that I am missing. and no, switching to particle hair does not provide a suitable alternative for my workflow.

Thanks for the report — we’ll look into whether those missing options can be added.
