Is there anyone who knows how to get NVLINK working with the Octane Render Node Daemon?
It(Nvlink Peers) works fine in Standalone and in Cinema 4D, but the Node Daemon does not recognize it.
Is there an additional option that needs to be added to the batch file?

C4D Master RTX3090 x 2 (Nvlink Ok) --> Daemon Slave RTX3090 x 2(Nvlink Failed)

Hi,

We have seen this before and are currently working with NVIDIA on a solution since there seems to be an issue with the driver causing this error to be displayed. We are hoping for a driver update to solve this issue.

That being said NVLINK should still be enabled and working despite this error being displayed. If it doesn’t for you please let us know since we might need to investigate further.

Thank you

I tested the Nvidia Studio Driver version 576.02 and several earlier versions.
The Daemon (with NVLINK enabled) works only when the scene fits within a single GPU’s VRAM (about 20GB in this case).
I expected the Daemon to handle scenes larger than 20GB using NVLINK, but when the scene exceeds that limit, only the Master C4D works correctly.

Sorry, the image did not load the first time, now I see what you mean.

This error can throw memory management a bit out of whack and cause errors like the one you see in situations of low memory constraints, which used also to happen in older versions of Octane. I am not sure why this is only happening with the network node though, but my guess is that somehow the scene manages to fit in VRAM. Also note that OptiX acceleration structures cannot take advantage of NVLink currently due to a limitation in the API, meaning one copy per device is required.

We hope we can get a quick resolution and will let you know once a new driver fixing this issue is available.

Rendering the sequence through the Picture Viewer.
It seems that NVLINK is not working.
This scene occupies 30GB of VRAM, but only the first frame is rendered, and then it stops without progressing.
It seems to work properly only in the Live Viewer. :cry:
