Hello, after the latest Cinema 2025 update, Octane seem to not update the Live Viewer unless changes are made in the prospective viewport.
For example, if an object is moved using the top, right, or front window there is no update on the Live Viewer, same if a parameter is changed on a material.

C4d version is 2025.2.1
Octane version is 2024.1.2 [R4]

Everything is fine and as expected with with Cinema 2024.5.1 and Octane 2024.1.2 [R4].

Hi,
sorry but I cannot reproduce your issue here with both Mac and Win versions of C4D 2025.

It could be caused by a custom c4d layout.

Do you have changed the c4d layout in C4D 2025, compared with 2024?

ciao,

Ciao Beppe!

Thank you for the reply.
I'm pretty sure I didn't change anything in the layout.

Do you think it could be something related to the preference folder?
Is there a way to reset the preferences without removing the preference folder completely? meaning keeping the plugins folder.

Thank you!

Hello!
Still having issues with this, I tried removing the preference folder, updating to octane 2025, updating the Nvidia drivers. No improvements.
Any other ideas on what could be causing this?

Sorry, I cannot reproduce the issue here in both Metal and CUDA versions of 2025.1-build 0104.
Live View correctly updates by moving objects in all four views.

To reset c4doctane preferences, please close c4d, then delete the oct.dat file at the following path, the c4doctane preferences will be reset to default, and a new oct.dat file will be created on next c4d start:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MAXON\Cinema4D-RXX_RANDOM_CODE\prefs\oct.dat

Looking forward for your feedback,

Hi Beppe!

completely understand if you can't reproduce the issue on you side.
As I'm trying different things I noticed that if the prospective window is full screen, the live viewer will update in realtime even if I change parameters in the attribute window or add/change materials.
See attached, sorry if the recording is a bit slow.

Hi,

in this case, the user found out that the issue was caused by 3dconnexion drivers.
After removing them from C4D 2025, everything went back to normality.

Hope it helps.

It looked liked it worked. I updated the driver and it seems to solve the problem.

Thank you!

Stefan
