Thank you! I just found another one: It seems like the HDR Light Studio connection doesn't work with the current Octane beta build for Houdini.bruce.chai wrote:Thanks for reporting this issue, ra2or.ra2or wrote:Rotating the toon distant light doesn't update in the IPR window. I have to refresh it manually each time to see the result.
I have reproduced this issue, will see if this could be fixed in the next release.

Hi ra2or, can you share a scene for this issue? Does it work with 2024.1.2.1 release? Thank you!ra2or wrote:Thank you! Hey devs!
Camera doesn't update for me, only if I move around with my mouse cursor IPR updates, but if I enter values in camera parameters to move it or I use the visual handles in the viewport to move it, IPR doesn't update at all.
Edit: It's not only the camera that doesn't update, object too, they do update but sometimes they don't when I put position values manually etc.

+ Also, when will it be possible to change the focal length for realistic lens presets? So far they are locked completely, can't change the focal length at all.
+ And if not difficult to answer, when polygon/geometry visualization be possible for ORBX imported objects? Right now the only way to visualize ORBX in Houdini is through points, which is pointless. (pun intended)

Hi there! So those presets are locked to 100mm etc. What we can add is the Sensor width as a control, it isn't the same thing as changing a focal length but should give better 'fitting to frame', it is currently a pin but not exposed as a control option.lavrenovlad wrote:+ Also, when will it be possible to change the focal length for realistic lens presets? As for ORBX import visualization, it is still a to-do... sorry no ETA yet. Sorry for the delay

Could I ask you to ping the core devs that since Octane 2024/2025 OOC doesn't work on my system anymore. I am casually testing the newest versions like 2025 beta 2 right now in one heavy scene, OOC just doesn't work it gives an error. While in Octane 2023 no crashes, it works just fine. I do see a difference in scene unpacking for OOC in 2024+ but it ends up with a crash.
Just wanna highlight this issue so it's not completely skipped.

Ok just checked and can confirm, thanks! We will look into it.marcikola wrote:To get a focus point, I am using this function in the the camera focus distance: vlength(vtorigin(".", "../focus"))
But unfortunately it doesn't get updated in the IPR when i move the focus null.
Is this a known limitation?
