Another weird bug/behavior I just encountered:
When rendering frames to disk it loads only instances first and starts rendering them and then instantly switches to the full scene and renders again but everything as it should, not just instances. I use Full Scene Reload mode.

Just made a second check on this, it's not instances, it's just generally something's screwed up with rendering to disk.
Same behavior with regular geometry, it loads the second frame as empty scene and renders it, and then switches to rendering the whole scene with the geometry.
I have layers turned off, nothing in the export path too that would trigger rendering layers.

Do you see this kind of behaviour in Standalone? Please export and check if you get that black out delay with your scene there, it may need a second for processing but not too sure.lavrenovlad wrote:One more thing, it feels like the IPR region tool isn't really stable with the denoiser turned on. When I run OIDN in constant denoising mode with region tool sometimes some actions in the material editor can cause blackouts in the IPR when the denoiser kicks in (need to wait for the image to appear back), and sometimes it crashes.

I don't know I haven't tried yet, will need to investigate and let you know for sure.ricky_otoy wrote:Do you see this kind of behaviour in Standalone? Question: Is 2025.1 beta 1 coming out soon? Would be interested in it for the new DOF, let me know, thanks!

There is an annoying problem with the IPR when I switch to some frame when IPR is on, it forces Houdini to calculate something for no reason from frame 1 to the frame I am on (like running a simulation when I have literally a cache file there and nothing should be simmed), usually if I switch frames I turn off IPR and switch to the needed frame and then turn the IPR back on.
