Had the bright idea of deciding on Octane for the project I'm currently working on. First constant freezes and crashed with octane plugin and max 2025 using latest studio drivers came across a forum post suggesting to roll back to 552, which I did (full clean up first then install older version). Now it "only" crashes with octane running once in a while but max is crashing randomly every now and again as well even when octane is not render engine. This is probably due to old drivers or I don't know, what I know for a fact is this never ever happened before a week and a half ago when I installed Octane.

Guys I've been on and off Octane for the past 10+ years, loved and always spoke highly of the software, but this is ridiculous, pull your heads out of your ... . It's not 2013 it's 2024 and you're not in Alpha any more and nobody cares about your five paragraphs technical reasonings and excuses.

Make it work and keep up, Chaos was able to bring their experimental Vantage software to more stable version in 3-4 years while It's still a Bingo lottery with Octane.

Hi Moonhowl,
I’m not sure which issues you’re referring to. Octane 2024.1 seems stable overall, with no major crashes reported. There’s the occasional freezing on 3ds Max 2025, but thanks to the developers’ addition of an unfreezing button, this problem appears to be under control. As for the drivers, I’m currently testing the latest Studio+ versions, and so far, I haven’t run into any issues.
