Materials Render Time

Is there a way to speed up material previews render time? It's painfully slow and the scene is non-responsive during this process. But I couldn't find settings which help to solve the issue.

You've told us nothing about the materials, how can we possibly know why they are slow? 16k textures? psd files? stored on a network? after effects is rendering in the background?

if it helps, materials in my projects render at 4-5 per second on a 4090
