Hi. I am using Octane again in Blender. I used it yesterday on my desktop computer and activated it on my laptop today. I can see I can not have it on both devices simultaneously. I imagine that's why I have 0 unlocks left. How should I deal with this from now on? Let's say I want to use my desktop computer today. Should I have a different account for that one?

0 Unlocks left? What does it mean
If you have have 0 unlocks left you should ask support to reset them to default value.
If you want use Octane on different computers with one account you should logout your Octane on a computer you used before starting Octane on another computer.
You can also have multiple accounts so you won't have to logout or unlock the license.
