The scene won't render when an empty RGB image node is connected to a light setup - no matter if it goes into the Texture or Distribution socket. Here's a setup that causes the issue.
Octane CB 28.13, Windows 10, RTX 3060

Just setting the empty image node up isn't enough. You need to load an image into the RGB Image node and then delete it by hitting the "X" next to the image name. After that the scene is broken.

I've loaded your scene and it rendered as expected (all black, which is normal for this scenario). It seems that if there was an issue previously, it has been resolved in the latest builds.

Well. I don't have access to the latest build. You see the conundrum here? Waisting my and your time? The other side of stacking release times.
