Hi Guys. Waiting for Octane release reminds me a french expression written on barbers shop windows, that can be translated as : "Tomorrow we'll shave for free".
Obviously, it is always for tomorrow !

							im on prebeta 2.3 v5 on have 2x GTX 460, i thought im running on double speed already?? does the 2.3 v5 support multi GPU then..?But hey, 4-6 extra weeks for adding Multi GPU support on all available cores? (672 cores for double GTX460). I will wait & count on you guys! Go on!
my humble spec: Quad Cores Q6600 @ 2.4 Ghz, 2GB, GeForce GTX 460 (x2), winXP 32 bit, 3DS MAx 2009

						@sublime, v5 (CUDA 3.0) supports multi GPU, the problem is with CUDA 3.2. There will be two versions of 2.4. Read the first post, it explains everything.
But 4-6 weeks of work (just?) for multigpu support in CUDA 3.2 seems a lot of time. Nvidia really broke everything with 3.2 - resulting in another setback for Octane.

Also in single GPU.more3D wrote:@sublime: No, all 460 owners are currently running on 2/3 speed in multi-GPU mode. This won´t change for the next weeks/months.
There will be two vesions of 2.4:
* CUDA 3.0; -> multigpu, only 2/3 of cores for 460
* CUDA 3.2; -> no multigpu, all cores for 460

I've got some questions to Octane render team,
Can you make the tabs splitable from main screen so that people who own two screens can have a better workflow ?
And how can we delete useless nodes in the node graph ?
Will you creat some poly displacement materials or subsurface scattering (exemple with a sort of thickness map of the object in a grey scale image?
Another usefull idea will be a "simple preview picture" of each nodes in the graph editor and why not in the outliner for live db...
