Actually, didn't get it working, had to update my nvidia drivers on the PC.

But FINALLY it works... Simple scene just on the M2 Pro, 46 seconds. Add in the PC and 2 x 3090s, 5 seconds.

Many thanks to all the developers, this is a total game changer for me!

Hi,
this issue has been fixed some time ago, and you are the first one reporting it with 2023.1.2-R7.

Please write to help at otoy dot com asking for Beppe, so I can investigate more deeply your case.

ciao,
Beppe

Hey
I'm trying to connect my PC via network render to a Mac as a slave.
I have already installed the daemon on Windows, but when I try to click "Network Preferences" in the Octane settings on a Mac, nothing happens.
And there should be a window with machines available on the network.
What is the problem?

I have a MacBook Pro M2 and octane 2023.1.2 (R7)

Try to disable firewall completely.
I experienced similar network problem recently.
I
Windows can something but can’t get answer something :) I guess my problem was like that. I could not fix firewall settings yet but it worked for me.

Please note that c4doctane 2023.1.x versions don't have Network Rendering feature enabled.

You need a 2024.1-Alpha version to be able to use Network Rendering with Apple Silicon.

Latest version is 2024.1-Alpha4, here is the link to c4doctane plugin:
https://render.otoy.com/customerdownloa ... _4_OSX.zip

And the link to corresponding Render Node version for Windows:

And Render Node for Linux:

Happy Net GPU rendering!

Hello there!
My Mac book pro is Big Sur 11.7.10, and Nvidia Geforce GT 750M 2G. Why always "No GPU which can be selected", when I used OC P11 for C4D R22? This has been bothering me for a long time. Who can help me? thank you a lot!

Hi,
OctaneX for Big Sur works with AMD GPUs only, your Mac is equipped with an Nvidia GPU, so you need to go back to High Sierra and use the MacOs CUDA version of Octane.
It is not possible to run Octane CUDA under Big Sur, since Nvidia has stopped to develop CUDA with High Sierra 10.13:
https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topi ... cos-10-14/

So you need to install a fresh copy of High Sierra, even on an external hdd/ssd:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/macos-h ... 4741?mt=12

With CUDA 418.163 version, and latest GPU drivers.
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/cu ... 63-driver/
https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverR ... 147/en-us/

Then you can install c4doctane Mac CUDA version 2020.2.5-R3:
https://render.otoy.com/customerdownloa ... Macosx.zip

But please also note that 2GB is a very low VRAM quantity, and you can only render very basic simple scenes.

ciao,
Beppe
