It would be great if change material type will support standard surface too. At the moment if we have standard surface material there is no way to back to Octane default ones without building the new from scratch.
This version freeze occasionally just after changing texture displacement height.

Not sure what you mean. Standard surface is a completely different type against octane materials iy you talk about.SSmolak wrote:It would be great if change material type will support standard surface too. Can anyone kind enough to explain what is Octane_PNG format listed in the changelog?
Does this format of PNG finally removes the nasty black edge when exporting an AOV with transparent background?
Thanks in advance! I searched everywhere cannot find any detail

Yes, I've added it on latest build for testing the internal saving functions rather than using C4D copy/save processing. It's using same way we use for Live Viewer's save image commands. It should help for premultiply alpha issues.911ljt wrote:Can anyone kind enough to explain what is Octane_PNG format listed in the changelog?

Hey Ahmet,
quick question. Is there a reason why the "Assign" tab is missing in the composite material?
All the other material types have this tab and it's really useful, imho.
Thank you!

Can't remember well but it was related a technical problem with a big luck. Sometimes small things are challenging in UI systemGregor.Zimmermann wrote:Hey Ahmet,

Been loving the latest release.. have encountered a bug though with Volumes.
On Mac Studio, up to date c4d version. Sonoma 14.2.1.
Volume step length doesn't seem to have any effect on the volume. This is on a VDB volume with imported .vdb file but occurs elsewhere.
Same file works totally fine in the most recent stable version "Cinema4D version 2023.1.2-[R4] (Latest stable) 13.02.2024"
simple test for this was. new scene.. from live viewer.. "new fog volume"... pull down volume step length. In latest, no change.. in 2023 volume gets denser as expected.
Are you having the same problem at your end?

Confirmed, the Volume Step Length is not working in this version, even on CUDA PC.Raoul wrote:Been loving the latest release.. have encountered a bug though with Volumes.
