I really wonder weather there is an Otoy member who is in charge of Lightwave users here…

Same here. We have a pile of licenses for LW at our shop and are anxious to gain access to new features.

Hi Im one of the new owners of LightWave 3D, we have taken over the developement of the Octane plug in and have already started to update it, though some of the bigger changes we have planned are a few months away.

We are now including the LightWave Octane plug-in for free in LW (from 2023 version). This is including a single GPU version of Octane and the LightWave specific plugin as standard. So anyone upgrading will get that built in (a new patch update with imbedded menues etc is being released in the next few weeks along with some bug fixes etc). The multi GPU Octane can still be purchased from the Otoy site and this will work with the included LightWave Octane plug in. We will be heavily updating the LightWave Octane plug in over the coming year and into the future. This will be available for PC and Mac.

As for the Forum, this is also something we will be taking over, in the coming months.

Finally i want to publicaly thank all the people at Otoy for supporting and helping us over the last few months as we have started the process of taking this onboard. We hope you all can bear with us in the short term.

Dear Andrew Bishop,
it's really a big step forward to have integrated octane with a single GPU, it's fantastic.
You have understood that it is not necessary to rewrite a rendering engine for lw, when it already exists with Octane.
We wish the best for lightwave with Octane as a partner.
We are using several GPUs here, hope for an update on both sides soon.
We will support LWD and OCTANE in this sense.
