Multiply node question

I've a bit of a problem multiplying my group input before it goes into the Power input of the RGB image. The Binary Math node just doesn't seem to work. And there doesn't seem to be a simple node to multiply a float value. This should be a simple task, yet it's not.

Any ideas what I can do?

Blender 3.6.6, Addon version 28.5, Windows 10.

I would use the Multiply Texture node in this case.

Not sure how you managed to connect the Binary node to the Power input, since those are not supposed to be compatible.

My feeling is that doing that in a group is not "triggering" the invalid red connection that should be there by the way.

If you need to use the Binary Math Operation node, convert the output value to Grayscale (Float to Grayscale node) so you can connect it to the Power input.

Thanks for the answer.

I already found a solution. Not very intuitive, but it works. Definitely a stumbling block for beginners. Maybe a simpler solution could be found in the future via additional nodes or more flexible ones. Tried the Multiply node as well. That doesn't work.

Yes, that's exactly what I suggested. The Multiply Texture node works here, by the way. Odd.

Can you send me a screenshot of how the node setup looks for your Multiply node solution?

Hey, Lino.

Thanks for the screenshot. But have you tried it in the context of my issue. So from a Group input into the Power socket of an RGB image? That seems to be a rather different situation.
