Weird black areas on mesh with baked Normal map

Hey guys,

I'm attempting to bake the normals of a mesh in Object mode.

It seems like everything I've attempted thus far, as soon as I apply the newly baked Normal map onto the mesh, it leaves me with completely black areas on the mesh. It is also not smooth for some reason.

I've tried changing the lighting, baking with AOV passes + Octane Bake Camera, baking with C4D's "Bake Material" tag, etc. etc. and yet I always end up with these black parts.

I've attached the project file to this message. It's optimized and ready for testing.

Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated.
