Hi,
I would like to start a thread of challenge for making wet asphalt with puddles. Using only procedural textures.
This kind (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUKKgiG ... el=iamLUPU) is pretty easy using texture images but it goes harder if need to texture the whole parking lot or something similar. That´s why I would be interested if can do it with procedurals.
If you want, try to make your own render and send also the Node tree.
Wet asphalt texture Challenge/Tips

It would essentially be similar to the appearance of the puddle texture. Plenty of procedural noise shaders which as large scale would look like puddles in shapes. The tricky part would be the fine edge details.
Worth to mention that procedural isn't necessarily the way. It is totally possible to texture larger areas with or without procedural techniques, involving texture files.
In case it is helpful, here's another informative source for the topic of wet asphalt surfaces.

Thanks.
1. I wonder how you make larger areas with texture files (with original Octane settings)? Would you like to give small indroduction?
2. I have tried to do whole thing with procedurals. I added my first drafts. I´m happy with large area but as you said, it´s probably impossible to make smaller details (close ups).
3. What are your first thought of what looks bad and should be improved in my pics?
