Here's a (possible) bug, but it can also be just the way that the render engine works. Nevertheless. When I render a region of a large image, the denoising at the end takes really long, even when the region is quite small.
I did a comparison to check the difference. I rendered a small crop (500px x 400px) of a large scene (about 8000px x 10000px). After the samples are done, the denoising kicks in and it takes almost a minute to finish. I then rendered the same scene at an actual 500px bx 400px and the denoising at the end is almost instant. So it seems as if when using render region, the whole scene is denoised and not just the region itself. Maybe worth checking.
Blender 3.6, Addon version 28.5, Windows 10.
But all that aside, the last update to 28.5 is massive. So many bugs are fixed - important ones. I will check through them today and report if there are any hickups. So a huge thanks to the devs and Lino for this big step forward.
