Hey there,

i noticed that animated curves do not have motionblur. Loading them in Standalone does produce motionblur. Also other deforming meshes do have motionblur if rendercache is enabled.

Since motionblur is limitated in general due to modo I hope there will be improvements in the future from foundry.

All the best

Motion blur /not/ using the render cache in the Octane plugin would be difficult, as it would require either a) the Modo SDK return the velocities of the curve points, or b) the plugin to load the curves into Octane for every frame of the timeline (which you could understand might have a very slow load time). With regards to rendering from within the render cache, this is not something I have explored, and I am unsure if the render cache supports render curves. It's something I would need to investigate further. I will add this to the Feature Request log.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

thank you very much. Foundry is currently working on a new system for external Renderers. Maybe this is something that will resolve once its ready.

All the best!
