Yeah and I'd also love to see an update to the install process. That 10 min video on youtube that's often referred to as the go-to guide for M1 Octane users seems far too tedious... why can we just not click on install and done similar to how C4D and Adobe CC are installed on our machines?Dean wrote:It's a long time to wait for a new version of Octane X C4D that supports macOS Sonoma, far too long...

Please dev team, Hotfix Octane for C4D 2024 on Mac Sonoma! Or at least, give us a release time frame. "A couple of days" is too vague. Some of us don't have the luxury of holding off major OS updates. Like me, Sonoma was pushed through due to mandatory security updates, leaving (payed) 3D work on hold because of not working Octane software. Clients are getting impatient.

Just a heads up on what I have run into. Octane 2023 / C4D 2024 on Ventura 13.6
I managed to install it using the commands from that Youtube video to temporarily disable gatekeeper but when I restart my Macbook Octane wouldn't work and I would have to do that gatekeeper thing again. What I wound working is a code snippet to disable gatekeeper for a specific app. I am realllllly hoping to see a fix to this from Otoy side but until then here's what I put in terminal and it seems to work.

Hi, still waiting for an intel-AMD plug-in version for Ventura... Can we expect any development or is Otoy leaving us behind, stuck in Cinem4Dr26 and Monterrey?aoktar wrote:This should work on SonomaJanec wrote:Please dev team, Hotfix Octane for C4D 2024 on Mac Sonoma! I'm talking for a developer not Otoy. Because I'm writing the plugin and facing the problems with Apple updates and doesn't allow to use old development tools in new operation systems. This is a shame for my opinion, you can't see this problem on Windows. I can easily support every C4D version until hit to very big problem on making the builds. Because of Apple's way, we may stuck at some point and choose the one way of twos. Also there are other problems to further in Octane Core as I can estimate. So nobody is leaving the users by own wish, just an obligation.iRota wrote:Hi, still waiting for an intel-AMD plug-in version for Ventura... We'll try to build PR15 but I assume that will be last build we can do. I hope that I'm wrong!

For LiveDB with M1/M2 we need to wait upcoming 2024.1 SDK, but there is a workaround.bokasonic wrote:@aoktar - as for the Apple M release of the Octane plugin, do you have an estimate of when the install process and LiveDB will be resolved? Thanks for all your work.
If you own a Studio+ license, it is possible to install C4D-OctaneX PR14 Studio for AMD in a different C4D version (like C4D R23, S24, R25 or R26), go to LiveDB, download and save the materials in an already saved c4doctane scene, and open it with M1/M2 version to import the materials from LiveDB to your scene.

Note that you need to select the Cinema 4D.app, press Command+I, to get the Info panel, and enable the **Open using Rosetta** option, in order to be able to run an AMD version on M1/M2, and you cannot do anything with this version, only access and download materials from LiveDB in an already saved scene:
