Would you please make sure that the **Render Node** is still selected when you ran the Viewport render?
Sorry, if I wasn't clear.
The Viewport render works with the **Render Node**, but the **Render Node** doesn't do any work, when I use "Render to Disk" or "Render to MPlay".

I've attached the **Render Node** Log. While it rendered with the viewport, there is no entry about that event.

Cheers
hi Cyrill,

Thanks for sharing the log file. Looks like the render node did not receive any data to process.
Would you please check if the master node sends data during the Viewport render?
The log should have time..ip etc..

We need to leave the **Enabled network rendering** and the **network daemons** options checked/enabled.

This way Render to disk command can pick up the render node automatically!

If this does not work then we recommend checking the Windows firewall or antivirus blocking the data transfers.
Or please feel free to reach out at *[email protected]* for further investigation.

Kind Regards

Hi BK

I checked my firewall settings and houdini and husk are both allowed. I am using the Indie Version of Houdini - could that be the reason it doesn't work?

I've attached a screenrecording. Hopefully you can see there, what I am doing wrong.
(Left side: remote Windows 10 with Octane Node / Right side: Windows 11 with Houdini)

FYI: meanwhile I am using Houdini 19.5.682 with the plugin. When I started reporting the issue, I used build 640.

Hi Cyrill,

Thanks again for the screen recording. It is very helpful to understand.

Would you please check the messages from the RenderNode dialog instead of the octane daemon log?
Also, please try the Render to Disk with an animated scene.

Hi BK,

Also with an animated scene the RenderNode is not participating in the rendering.

Attached a screenshot of the RenderNode dialog (I verified, that the rendernode participates, when using the Viewport).

Cheers

Hi Cyrill,

Thank you for attaching the screengrab.
It looks like the Render node is connected! Did you happen to check the GPU stats?
Is it okay to reach out via Zendesk "[email protected]"?

cheers

Hi BK

As seen in the video, I always check the GPU load - thats unfortunately the only indication, if the node does its work.

Ok, I'll reach out via Zendesk.

Cheers
