Hi!
I'm posting this because this is a issue I had for a long time and I want to know if there is a solution to that in C4D with Octane.
I'm on the very last version of C4D 2023 + Last version of Octane Studio Plugin
I have a C4D scene with a car moving. The car is set along a spline and a camera is following that car. I have added a motion blur tag to the car and have activated MB on the camera.
The pure logic of things would be that the whole environnment around the car is gonna be motion blurred and the car almost 100% distinct since the camera is at the same speed as the camera. Since both the cam and the car at the same speed, the car shouldn't appear Motion Blurred.
And this is exactly what have... BUT only in the liveviewer. In the liveviewer I have the result that I want. And when I hit render (with picture viewer or render list), the render is FULL motion blurred.
Meaning that the soft is also motion blurring the CAR even it shouldn't as it going at same speed and since the car has a MB tag so it is taken into account..
Here is a preview of the liveviewer (on the left - what I want) and the render on the right.
Also here is a few screenshots to show my render settings and all https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0avxm08nod32 ... rrHta?dl=0.
Would love to make that work as it would solve so many problems, even with other scenes I've been working with.
If any have any why I have that difference and how could I come up with the render of the left as it should! Thank you!
Motion Blur not the same in Live viewer than in Render

As has been said many times before, Live Viewer is intended ONLY for lighting and material previews. It can preview motion, but Live Viewer cheats for speed. Any motion blur shown in Live Viewer is an approximation, at best, and most likely incorrect. Motion previews should always be done with the Make Preview command in Cinema 4D, and Rendering to Picture Viewer is the only way to judge motion blur results. I see. Thanks for the information, I actually didn’t know about that.
That being said, how do I achieve the result I want?
Like I mentioned, the car shouldn’t be blurred! It’s almost as if the car was a child to the camera in the scene, they are going at the exact same speed. It shouldn’t be blurred and I can’t find a way to make that happen.
Thank you

You have to add one "Octane Object tag" to group of CAR and activate the motion blur in tag(it's ON default). Then send to render. That's all!corsac wrote:I see. Thanks for the information, I actually didn’t know about that.

Thanks for the help on this!
Well, I finally understand what was going.
I got bugs on my scene because I already had a Octane Tag on the group "CAR", which is fine...
But also Octane tags were added in some parts inside that null CAR. And those children tags if set to "Transform/vertex" were not being rendered properly, I had to set them to "Transform" only in order to make the whole scene work.. Not sure to get why.
The fact that I wasn't really aware before that the render I get from my Liveviewer or actual Render were not the same was not helping. So thank you very much for the infos / tips!
