2 graphic card and vram

if i have 2 graphic card each 1gb

how octane use that, 2gb of vram or just 1 gb

Both cards must have the whole scene loaded in memory, so in your case it's only 1 GB.

so extra card is just for faster render, and if i have in scene little village with 5-6 houses in middle of a forest i can forget that extra 1 gb on other card
i am not shure even a card with 2gb can do that job

@matej did you try with your card something like that it is enought 2gb of ram??

It totally depends on your polycount and amount of texture data. Up to now I haven't used more that ~1.2GB on my card. 2GB is enough for most of the typical work.

But 1GB can be also enough in a lot of situations. With 1GB card you can easily do scenes with around 2 mio polys with a decent amount of textures.
