Hi Guys,
First things first: A HUGE compliment to you!
By coincidence I noticed that in Octane 2022.1 we can finally navigate inside the Octane viewport. This alone is cool, but I am completely blown away by the performance!
Everyone knows, navigating a heavy scene with C4D gives you terrible viewport performance.
However, navigating the same scene inside the Octane Viewort runs smooth as butter! Wow, guys. That is absolutely amazing!
This got me to think. With Brigade on the horizon, could we finally completely lose the C4D Viewport and exchange it with Octane? We would need an option to show the necessary viewport element like Selections, Axis etc. and be able to select multiple Objects at once. But I would assume this to be possible, right?
Is Brigade planned to work like this? It would completely change 3D workflow forever!
Will Brigade deliver us from C4D Viewport?

Hi,
you can already do this!
Please, close Live View, then go to Octane menu, and choose the Octane Dialog instead.
Then go to menu Options, and enable the Viewport rendering option.
When active, the Live View is black.
ciao,
Beppe

But sadly this gives us the terrible viewport performance of C4D and not the awesome performance of Octane viewport. So it isn't really practicable to use.
I hope so much, that you guys plan to make Brigade a true alternative to standard 3D viewport!
A fast render kernel is a great thing, but this for itself won't make that much of a difference to us. What every single 3D artist wishes for is the possibility to fluidly work directly INSIDE the rendered scene (similar to Unreal) without having to go through a clunky viewport with all its limitations. I can't stress enough how much of an impact this would have.
