I see quite a few people submitting images rendered with the directlighting/ambient occlusion kernel.
even though that's fine, if you're ok with the results,
but to those who might now know it yet,
since the v0.8a uses directlighting by default,
you can get better results with the path tracing integrator,
at the cost of a bit higher rendertime and some possible fireflies,
but you can remove those with the hotpixels software mentioned...

try it :)

Pixym: I did the focus a litle bit out, because in focus, we could see UV fails, out of mesh...

Radiance: Yes, this picture was rendered with direct-lighting. The other ones, I changed to path tracing (since 0.8, of course).
The software are still crashing, and I have a fraid to do many changes...
Do some print screens, and keep changing till the results, or crash.
Pls, at 0.9, turn on some saving method, even in a proprietary format...
BTW, I'd like to tell you I'm very happy with the engine results.
The features related to 1.0 will be very welcome.
Congrats about the engine.

Wow, great renders there n1k.
Details are great, like the bump on the beans and the spec map on the wood.

agreed, all of the work that has been submitted is pretty amazing, some of the best I've seen. itll be very tough to judge I'm guessing. i have a couple scenes I'm going to probably enter tomorrow, but I highly doubt they'll compare to some of the work here. although I do have money set aside to purchase the software anyway.
