Having the Shadow Catcher feature respect Light Linking would be extremely useful. The Shadow Catcher currently overlooks any Light Linking.

As I understand it, the shadow catcher is still available for backward compatibility, but isn't being further developed. AOV groups give you more control than the shadow catcher.

Im currently using AOV groups but having the Shadow Catcher toggle is quicker and I would think, could support light linking.

I agree. I like the simplicity of using a basic shadow catcher, but I do understand the developer's choice to move on. It's a question of limited resource allocation; to go back to update a previously deprecated feature, or put that time and energy into improving and developing supported/new features. Unless a lot of people are really clamoring for the older tool, it makes sense to look ahead instead of back.

The older I get, the more this makes me grumble. :)

Maybe they can improve the new workflow then. Currently to add a "Shadow Catcher" there are many steps and lots of Nodes. As seen here: https://youtu.be/Sv-RauFXYWQ
