I do not see the Otoy online Octane materials when I open the OctaneDB. The only tab available is localDB. How do we get access to the online Octane materials with Octane X 2022.1 MacOS?
I am using an M1 Mac Mini with Monterey 12.6.

about LiveDB and M1/M2, latest OctaneX versions are distributed as free Prime versions, to speed up the development, so LiveDB is not available.
If you are already in macOS 13 Ventura, you need to wait for the upcoming 2023.1 version.
But since you are still in macOS 12 Monterey, you can install commercial Studio version of Standalone OctaneX-PR14, access to the LiveDB from PR14, save the materials in LocalDB, to be able to load them from LocalDB in Standalone OctaneX 2022.1.
Here is the link to Standalone OctaneX Studio PR14:

Hello.
Coming to news… But I'm lost
what would you suggest for M1 (ultra, macstudio) users ? Currently using 2022.1-[R2] under Monterey 12.6.3
I do get lot of freeze, like 20 a day, even so it's the most "stable" version with a Mac for now.
Should I switch to Ventura? Is there a version optimised for Ventura, "easier" to develop for you, or is the 2022-1-[R2] the one you would advise ?
Thank you for feedbacks !

The renderer may be identical, but network rendering between platforms is another can of beans. As has been stated elsewhere, the official line appears to be it is planned for Octane 2023. When will that be released? "When it's ready."3dworks wrote:Any news about octane 2023 with headless rendering and CUDA interoperability?

Features now in development during the Octane 2023.1 Beta:

If Real Time option is enabled, AI Denoiser is not performed so it must be disabled, it is also not available in PR14, so comparison with AMD is not fair.
I have removed the 40" result from the chart, and corrected the M1 base result: ciao,
Beppe
How is it not fair to include? The Radeon's are also AMD so why isn't that fair? The w6800x Duo's in my Mac Pro render this scene in 5 seconds flat if we scale it.
I know you guys don't allow us to use all 4 GPU's in our Intel Mac Pro 7.1's anymore but it's still a fair comparison because we need to know when the M series chips reach parity
with reality had you guys not gimped our systems. I love My M2 Max MacBook Pro but it simply isn't close to the speed of the Mac Pro with 2 w6800x duo's that you guys refuse to
develop for anymore. And it's very frustrating to watch all that power be wasted.

Please, also make sure to have not a custom c4d layout with Project Asset Manager in it.

Hello,
I also have same issue as in this thread with Octane X stopping working on my Macbook M1 on Monterey. When I try to redownload the Octane X classic from the App Store and open it, I'm getting \U201Coctane\U201D is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete \U201Coctane\U201D and download it again from the App Store
Could you let me know if a solution to this issue was found?
Thanks,
Josh
