Hi,
I exported an ORBX animated package from cinema4d and it seemed it included the vdb files judging by the file size (3.2GB), uploaded to RNDR and ran a test job. Unfortunately the VDBs are missing completely. Am I doing something wrong, or is there known issues with rendering animation VDBs? Is there anything I have to look out for while exporting the ORBX?
Appreciate any help.
Cheers,
Silan
Using RNDR with VDBs (animation not one vdb)
Hi,
what type of c4doctane .orbx exporter are you using?
From Live View menu File, or from Render Settings/OctaneRender/Main tab?
Better to export from Render Settings, and check the result in Standalone, before loading the exported .orbx file to RNDR.
In Standalone, select the vdb node, then press the film/animation icon, and check that the animated vdb files are correctly listed: ciao,

Are you using C4D Octane 2020 on Mac OS by any chance? That particular combination gave us lots of ORBX/RNDR problems. The short term work-around was to export from C4D to ORBX on Windows. We have since updated to Octane 2022, where it no longer seems to be an issue.
