NOTE: If you plan to use this plugin in Maya prior to 2023, DON'T UPDATE the Bifrost version from 2.4 installed by a Maya installer to 2.5! The Bifrost 2.5 SDK/API is completely incompatible with previous one, thus you will not be able to load this plugin.

IT seems like it is crashing Maya when you click render. IPR works fine though.
I am running maya 2023.3 and this version of Octane.

UPDATE
When I set up OCIO it seems that it fixed the problem and it is working.

Please try reinstalling Maya 2023.1 and make sure to include Bifrost and Xgen.

Maya 2033.1 xgen and Bifrost 2.4 are installed
I back to the 2021 don't have time to investigate for now, let me know if you have a solution.

I don't know if this will help you but I always use the batch renderer in Maya for my octane work instead of the direct maya render.

And if I don't have hair systems or complex systems that are not baked, then I just export to ORBX and use the standalone. It's faster that way and I get to use the octane render farm node.
